Sara Wasserman — daughter of Rob Wasserman, legendary Grammy® Award-winning bassist -- was literally born to sing. Over the course of the past seven years, her family’s roots and shoots led her to musical collaborations with Aaron Neville, Christian McBride, Lou Reed, Vernon Reed, DJ Logic and Stephen Perkins. The result is “Solid Ground,” an album of songs that is both the reflection of a beautiful creative soul and a brilliant showcase for a truly spectacular voice.
Quite simply, music has been a part of Sara's life from day one. The daughter of Grammy-winning bassist Rob Wasserman, Sara was immersed in a rarified musical world from an early age. This unique experience has molded Sara into a young artist with whom few can compare.
To be surrounded by such virtuosity starting at such an early age is a rare experience for an artist. Yet, what emerged from all these powerful influences was Sara's own unique musical style. Her musical influences draw from a diverse list of artists - From Aretha Franklin, to Marvin Gaye, Etta James, Mary J. Blige and Bonnie Raitt, Sara effortlessly blends expressive lyrics with seductive melodies that visibly move her audience. From her soul-stirring ballads to her sensual up-tempo vocals, Sara's unique take on contemporary melodies is a refreshingly creative approach.
Sara will play San Diego on Wednesday, September 23 at CAIN'S in Mission Beach; she and her father, Rob Wasserman and her co-producer, Randy Emata will open for LIVING COLOUR at 8:00 p.m.

Sara's collection of songs includes "Fly Away,” an extraordinarily beautiful ballad that epitomizes the strength of her songwriting abilities. "Fly Away" was written and initially recorded as a solo ballad, but after hearing it, Aaron Neville, the legendary singer, fell in love with the song and asked to be able to join Sara in duet. The result is an impassioned rendition describing the realities and consequences of loves lost. Their newest collaborations are “Fresh Out of Tears” and “I Am A Song” both songs featuring Aaron’s original words and Sara’s melody.
Aaron Neville joins a list of A-list performers, musicians, writers, and producers who have contributed to this breathtaking project; including Lou Reed, Christian McBride, Rob Wasserman, Jim Capaldi from Traffic, Vernon Reid from Living Colour, Bob Weir, Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction, Irvin Mayfield, DJ Logic, Soulive; Producers Eran Tabib (Angie Stone), Randy Emata (Santana, Kenoly Brothers) and Milton Davis (The Neville Brothers). Very few new artists are as blessed as Sara to have this many talented people believe in her music and contribute so magnificently to it. It speaks volumes about her as a person and an artist.

She has performed at Party in the Park Festivals in the UK, and numerous venues throughout the USA including the Warfield Theater, Fillmore Auditorium, and Shoreline Amphitheatre in San Francisco, Tipitina's, New Orleans, and Hard Rock Café, Las Vegas.

skills as a pop, jazz and rock vocalist.” --Tom Wilk, ICON Magazine
"Sara's voice soars into our consciousness on a mission of musical truth, a harbinger of
hope delivered upon the dissonance of pop's throwaway landscape. She is equal parts
strength and sincerity, with roots anchored in R & B's rich musical soil and a style that is,
well, simply Sara."

a song you think had already hit because it's so familiar - but really it's an original classic
just waiting to be heard."
