Suzanne is one of few Certified International Infant Massage Trainers with Infant Massage USA, a non-profit family education and service organization. More importantly, she is an ambassador of hope for families & children around the globe. Suzanne is everything baby massage – Her comprehensive knowledge base, her passion for this work, her integrative approach, the integrity of her commitment to families and her students and her energetic presentation is what makes her music educational, inspiring and fun.
In her infant massage classes and trainings, Suzanne sings – the same “oldies but goodies” were being sang. It was time for something new! Inspired by the love connections she witnesses between parents and their babies at every class, Suzanne began belting out original tunes that are not only fun, sweet and the sing-along type, they also have meaning. While infant massage is an age-old global tradition, the modern evidence-based science proves what families have known for millennia – it carries with it a myriad of profound benefits for the healthy growth and development of the child’s brain, body and the heart that lies in between and the relationship parents are building with their children. Each song has a message, and it is Suzanne’s hope that families carry these messages of love and admiration throughout life. It’s a basic human need to feel loved, wanted and a part of something greater than ourselves. The need is so great, that this quality of parent-child bonds can begin at any time in life. It’s never too late to love, hug, kiss and cuddle!
Suzanne’s work doesn’t stop here – she’s also a published author. Check out her book Baby Massage – Soothing Strokes For Healthy Growth. It’s a fun easy-read flip chart-style book with how-to photos of real babies. It’s been translated into French too! We only carry the English version. It’s a great way to learn how to apply a lot of what Suzanne teaches and it goes great with her CD!
To top it off, our educator, singer/songwriter and author is also a humanitarian. Her work with abandoned and institutionalized children with special needs known as the ‘Children of Chernobyl’, in rural southern Belarus. gained the attention of the media. For the 20th anniversary of the world’s worst nuclear fallout in Chernobyl, Northern Ukraine, People Magazine printed a spotlight 6-page article featuring the work of Suzanne and two colleagues titled “Chernobyl Hope” in the April 24th issue, 2006.
